These terms cover the subscription, what we promise (and don't), and how disputes are resolved. By using Couchette you accept them. If you don't, the App Store has a refund button — there are no hard feelings.

The app

Couchette is an iPhone focus timer styled as an overnight European sleeper train journey. It is supported entirely by subscription — there is no free tier. New users start with a 7-day free trial of Wagon-Lit Annual, which unlocks every feature.

Subscription terms

Premium access is offered as three options:

• Wagon-Lit Annual — $34.99 USD per year, including a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers.
• Wagon-Lit Monthly — $6.99 USD per month, no trial.
• Wagon-Lit Lifetime — $79.99 USD one-time, non-consumable.

Prices are listed in USD; the price you actually pay is set by Apple in your local currency and may differ. All prices include applicable taxes per Apple's billing rules.

Auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your payment method on file with the App Store is charged at the end of the trial (for the annual plan) and at the end of each subsequent period. The renewal price for the annual plan is $34.99 USD; for the monthly plan, $6.99 USD. Renewal prices may change with at least 60 days' notice, in line with Apple's Auto-Renewable Subscription pricing rules.

Free trial

The annual plan includes a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method is charged the regular annual rate of $34.99 USD. The trial is available once per Apple ID per Apple's family-sharing rules, and is forfeited if you cancel and resubscribe.

Cancellation

Manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store:

• iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Couchette → Cancel.

Couchette cannot cancel for you, and the App Store does not refund unused portions of the current period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. You may request a refund from Apple directly via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Lifetime purchase

The lifetime tier is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It unlocks the same features as the subscription tiers, for as long as Couchette remains available on the App Store. If we ever withdraw the app from the store, your existing installations remain functional but we do not owe refunds for that scenario.

Restore purchases

Tap "Restore purchases" in Settings → Subscription to re-link a prior purchase to a new install or a new device, using the Apple ID that made the original purchase.

What we promise

We promise to operate Couchette in good faith, keep it stable and private, fix bugs in a reasonable timeframe, and never retroactively reduce your subscription's value without notice and an opportunity to cancel.

What we don't promise

Couchette is provided as-is. We don't warrant that the app is uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, except where local consumer law prohibits such limitations — for example, your statutory consumer rights in the European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, and similar jurisdictions are unaffected by anything in this section.

Acceptable use

• Don't use Couchette to harass other people, or to facilitate any unlawful activity.
• Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except to the extent that local law expressly permits it (e.g. EU Software Directive interoperability provisions).
• Don't attempt to circumvent the App Store payment system or impersonate the developer.

We reserve the right to terminate access for clear abuse, in which case any unused portion of an active subscription is refundable via Apple at our written request.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced inside the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Couchette after a change takes effect means you accept the new version. If you don't accept a change, the correct response is to cancel your subscription before the change applies — you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Governing law + disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, to the extent local consumer law applies. Otherwise, English law governs, with the courts of England and Wales as the venue for disputes that aren't required to be heard locally.

For users in the European Union and United Kingdom: you may bring a complaint via the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
